Clear Ridge Nursery Inc

We are a small civic association just trying to plant as many trees as we can in our neighborhood. So we need what little money we have to go as far as possible. We made our first purchase of 40 trees from Clear Ridge about a month ago. The price was amazing and the delivery was reasonable especially when compared with local nurseries who charge nearly as much. The is especially surprising given Clear Ridge had about a 3.5 hour drive to get here versus 30-40 minutes for the others. We saw at delivery that the trees look great above ground, but the roots are often the bigger issue for potted trees. We have gotten about ten of the trees in the ground and so far we are very impressed. We have had no significant root issues at all, which was a bit of a surprise based on the size of the trees and what we are used to from other nurseries. The best part is that all of the trees we got are straight species native, which seems to be getting harder and harder to find from other sources. We will definitely be going back to Clear Ridge. They have earned our business.

Clear Ridge has consistently great quality trees, I do not have to worry about the standard of their stock on delivery, because I know it will be good. They have a helpful and flexible staff, are cheerful in their work, and able to make adjustments and changes to fit the need of the project and buyer even last minute. Evie is a particular delight to work with, keeping things prompt and joyful.

I have toured their nursery as a professional. Very high quality plants, highest quality tree and shrub nursery around here that I know of. They're wholesale only but some retail nurseries listed on their website sell their products. They use drip irrigation with a genius pot-in-pot system, no pesticides iirc, only native plants (mostly to MD, a little bit Midatlantic). They trim them to look nice, nothing is rootbound or planted too deep, I didn't see disease, plants look healthy. They don't have every native species I'm looking for in stock but I wish I could buy everything from them. They do custom grow though so if you have the time you can ask. Howard County government uses them all the time. Their tree giveaways are from here. Best prices around on #10+ potted trees. Staff may be busy but are very kind and helpful. Ask ahead if you're ordering a #5 in summer, it might be heavily pruned to be a nice shape as a #7.

We ordered 100s of containerized trees from Clear Ridge in Fall 2026 and the product, administrative services, and delivery were exceptional It was the same qualty and service that Clear Ridge showed us more than 15 years ago when I first visited the nursery and purchased their products. A special thanks to Amanda and Evie. We look forward to working with you again, soon.

Cacapon Institute has been purchasing trees from Clear Ridge Nursery for more than a decade. We rely on their beautiful tree stock for all of our plantings across the Potomac Basin of West Virginia. We order 500-1,000 trees twice a year and it's no easy task but it’s always a success. Their deliveries come on time and their trees are in great health upon arrival. You can tell they take good care during production and shipping. Every season, spring & fall, we look forward to working with Clear Ridge.
